11 Bollywood Dads we all louve!

   June 10 2014

One thing that Bollywood movies have taught us time and again is,its all about loving your parents, #thankYouKaranJohar! It’s Father’s Day next week and what could be a better way to celebrate Dads than to honor our most beloved, most #dhaansu dads of Bollywood.

11) ‘Pops’ from DDLJ

image

Why we love him?

  • Forces his son to go on a euro trip.
  • Is more than happy when his son flunks in his exams, cause it’s a family tradition.
  • "Do not play the tuntuna… Go get your girl"! Need we say more?

10) Dharam Singh from Yamla Pagla Deewana

image

Why we love him?

  • Drinks more alcohol than the appetite of both his sons put together.
  • Dances better than the item girls. Remember Pal pal na maane tinku jiya?
  • And well, he hangs out with a chimpanzee, #ifYouDontFindThatCool #youHaveABiggerIssue.

9) Rusy from Ferrari Ki Sawaari

Why we love him?

  • He reminds us of every single chapter from our Moral Science textbooks.
  • Simple, honest and genuine.
  • Out there to make world a better place. Now why would anyone not love that?

8) Baldev Singh from DDLJ

image

Why we love him?

  • Although he was a hard nut and was the only guy close to a villain in DDLJ, during the climax his contribution towards a HAPPY ENDING was commendable.
  • He single handedly gave the universe, the most romantic gift ever.. “Ja simran ja, jeele apni zindagi”, and then this happened:

7) Father of Fathers

image

Why we love him?

  • Be it Rahim chacha from Sholay or Sharmajee from Bawarchi, he has always been a father figure on screen.
  • It’s really hard to look at his face and not feel a sense of #respect.

6) Thakur from Sholay

image

Why we love him?

  • For being a pioneer in minimalistic fashion. In a time when colorful bell bottoms were in vogue, he set a trend with his white attire and the iconic shawl.
  • He was one of the first tap dancers in India. “Tere liye toh mere pair hi kaafi hai!” The reason why Sholay was such a hit, was because in the climax he tap danced over Gabbar Singh avenging the death of his loved ones.

5) Amol Arte [AB Jr] from Paa

image

Why is he on the list?

  • Because he carried Amitabh Bachchan on his back.
  • Had only 20% screen time in this movie.
  • Confused everyone with what was going on in the movie… Ok so you mean the kid in the movie is actually his father in real life but he’s playing his father’s father in the movie? #makesSense?

4) Ram Gopal Bajaj from Andaz Apna Apna

image

Why we love him?

  • He taught us the value of time and precision. “Sab cheez time to time honi chahiye”!
  • Because he made the epic ‘Mark idhar hain’ re-mark and we dedicated a t-shirt to him on bollytude.
  • His last name is Bajaj….. Humara Bajaj.

3) Shahenshah from [well…] Shahenshah

image

He made this list purely on technical grounds and we love him because:

  • He showed the world you do not need kids to become a father.
  • He went around telling everyone “Rishtey mein toh hum tumhare Baap hote hai”, thus making them a part of his family. #whatASweetyPie!
  • Had the most awe inspiring dressing. Black leather tights with a shimmery metal net and a rope…. #weRestOurCase!

2) Vicky Donor

image

Why we love him?

  • He made India proud by creating a world record for the youngest dad with most no of kids. #weAreNo1Again.
  • He looks good, has dimples, was on roadies, can play guitar and sing. #woo000000wwwwww.
  • Has the most unconventional income source and he truly loves his job #winkWink,

1) Babuji - Father of the universe

image

Why the universe loves him?

  • He has more patents and inventions to his name than Thomas Edison. Sanskaar, Aashirwad, Namaskar, Samdhi-Samdhan games, Kanyadaan and many many more.
  • The most respected Dad ever in the history of mankind, in fact no one even disrespects him by calling him dad or pops. Everyone calls him either Babuji or Pitahjee. #weSaluteYou!
  • His mere presence on screen is mesmerizing and with a personality that over shadows everyone around him, he truly is an icon for Fathers around the globe.
